JCHSRE: Follow-up letter from today’s incident at JCHS

Dear Parents/Guardians,

This letter is to follow-up with you about the incident that occurred this morning at Johnson City High School.

My biggest concern tonight is our students and their well-being. We will have additional supports in place tomorrow for any student who needs it, and we will continue those for as long as necessary. If you or your student(s) require any additional support or assistance, please feel free to contact me directly at [email protected] or (607) 930-1009.

I would also like to take a moment to express my pride in the swift response of our students, staff, and police department during this emergency. Their calm and cooperative efforts played a crucial role in bringing the situation under control. I am grateful for their resilience and commitment to maintaining a safe environment for everyone.

Out of an abundance of caution, all after-school activities were canceled today. There will be additional resources throughout the day tomorrow beginning at arrival and continuing through dismissal for the safety of our students.

Again, please reach out to me if you need any assistance.

Fred Deinhardt
High School Principal
