First esports competition

New JCHS esports club participates in first virtual competition
Posted on 10/05/2023
esportsOur high school's new esports club participated in its first competition yesterday afternoon. JC competed virtually against Windsor in the game "Rocket League" and played five-minute games with the best of five determining the winners. We are happy to say JC won 4-3 overall and kudos to Jacob Sternquist for scoring the first esports Rocket League goal!

The new high school club aims to assist students in forming relationships with others who enjoy the same hobby and allows them the opportunity to compete against peers in esports tournaments and school-run tournaments.

JC joins Chenango Valley, Horseheads, Maine-Endwell, Oneonta, Owego, Sus. Valley, Tioga, Union-Endicott, Waverly, Whitney Point, and Windsor as esports competitors.

JC esports is run by high school staff members Mr. Schieve and Mr. Thompson.
