Christine Marion from Broome County Health Department visited Patricia Carpenter’s Street Law classes this week to discuss driver safety. She spoke about the various factors that can inhibit good driving, such as drug and alcohol use, cell phone distraction and drowsiness. The following day, School Resource Officer Lou Cioci provided the classes with special goggles that simulated the varying degrees of being under the influence of alcohol. The students were then challenged to write their names, walk a straight line, make a basketball free-throw and ride a scooter in a straight line.
