JC Board recognizes members of the Johnson City Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 921
On Tuesday evening, the Board of Education recognized members of the Johnson City Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 921.
Superintendent Race and Board President Matyas expressed their sincere gratitude for the firefighters' outstanding support of local students and families.
In addition to organizing, coordinating, and managing a recent school supply drive, the firefighters went above and beyond by reaching out to our JC Community Schools team to identify additional student needs. Using their extensive network of community partners and resources, they worked together to meet those needs, ensuring students were equipped for a successful start to the school year.
The Board commended the department and union members for their dedication, generosity, and commitment to serving the community beyond their traditional role, making a meaningful difference in the lives of local children and families.
