Before the holiday break, the high school chapter of the National Honor Society (NHS) hosted the Matthew Cunningham 3x3 Basketball Tournament in the high school gym. The society’s student members wanted to give back to their Wildcat community by offering free admission to teams and spectators. In lieu of admission, individuals were strongly encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item.
In conjunction with the Matthew Cunningham tournament, the NHS hosted a community food drive to support the Wildcat Food Center, which collected more than 800 pounds of food for distribution to the Johnson City community.
The members of the NHS would like to thank the following businesses, which graciously served as food donation collection sites: Factory Beer Tree, Food & Fire, Your Home Public Library, Pizza On the Plaza, Rossi’s Pizza, Sole City Coffee, Village of JC Offices, Visions Federal Credit Union, the Johnson City Senior Center, Amphenol, North Bridge, Maines Food & Pantry, Islamic Organization of the Southern Tier, Calvary’s Love Church, Tioga State Bank, The Topper, Innovation, The Computer Man, Fat Cat Comics, and NYSEG Binghamton Office.
We are incredibly proud to be part of such a giving community and thrilled to honor the memory of Matthew Cunningham.
