Kelsey Palmer's 3rd-graders and Melissa Kettle's 5th-graders at Johnson City Elementary School recently collaborated to create March Madness: Book Edition. Each class read 16 books with various themes and messages. Afterward, they voted on what books should continue to the next round. Each class picked their winner and the classes met together to read the final two stories and vote on the championship winner. The champ? "The Day the Crayons Came Home!" by #1 New York Times Best-Selling Children's Book Author Drew Daywalt.
