On February 21, Broome-Tioga BOCES' main campus was the site of the annual Legislative Breakfast, an event held by the Broome-Tioga School Boards Association in conjunction with the Broome-Tioga Association of Chief School Administrators.
The meeting provided school officials an opportunity to meet with our state legislative representatives to discuss issues affecting public schools. It also provided our legislators an opportunity to deliver an update – in person – on developments in the legislative session.
We were proud to see JC senior and New Visions Law & Government student Emma McCaffery in attendance. In addition, JC Student Government President Tosin Benson and Vice President Christina Francois were in attendance.
Elected officials in attendance included Congressman Josh Riley, Senator Lea Webb, Assemblywoman Donna Lupardo, Assemblyman Joe Angelino, Broome County Executive Jason Garnar, Binghamton Mayor Jared Kraham, Broome County Sheriff Fred Akshar, and other area representatives.
