High School Family and Consumer Sciences teacher Kelly Earley recently traveled to Nashville, Tennessee, to represent our school at the ACTE (Association for Career and Technical Education) VISION Conference, the premier national event for Career and Technical Education.
Selected from a competitive pool of applicants, Mrs. Earley presented an innovative session titled "Anyone Can Cook! Teaching Culinary Concepts with Ratatouille." The presentation was a massive success, drawing a standing-room-only crowd of educators from across the country. By using the themes of the beloved film to anchor complex culinary techniques and kitchen management strategies, the session offered teachers fresh, engaging ways to engage students in the classroom.
The impact of the presentation extended well beyond the session itself. Due to the overwhelming response, Mrs. Earley has been invited to share this expertise at several other Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) conferences across the United States.
"I truly believe that 'Anyone Can Cook,' and being able to share that philosophy with a packed house in Nashville was a highlight of my career," she said. "I’m excited to bring the new ideas I gathered back to our kitchen and to continue this conversation at upcoming conferences nationwide."
