Dec. 17 message from the Superintendent

campus viewWe are deeply concerned with the most recent events of a non-credible threat against schools nationwide. This has caused an extreme amount of stress over the last 24 hours for everyone involved in operating schools. Even when threats against schools are found to have no credibility, they cause a great deal of angst and anxiety for our students, staff and families.

It is important to note - creating or sharing such threatening social media posts can lead to serious school discipline and criminal charges. We ask families to speak to their child about proper online behaviors and to never share or spread threatening posts. Instead, we would ask that they communicate any threatening social media to an adult they trust, or to notify the authorities so it can be handled accordingly. Again, we take every threat seriously at Johnson City CSD.

Thank you all for your vigilance and awareness as we strive to provide the safety that is necessary in our schools for students to feel safe and learn.
