On Tuesday, 13 of our high school science students joined more than 200 students from across the region to participate in Broome-Tioga BOCES' annual Engineering Days event. The teams designed a catapult/target system using PVC pipe, duct tape, a stretch band, a cup, and brain power to create a contraption that would, hopefully, catapult a ball to be caught by the target. Scores were determined based on the distance the ball launched and how close it came to the target.
