Students Jimena Marroquin, Elyssa Savichky, Aleezhey Zafar, Ayesha Siddiqui, Celeste Yagley, Sania Majeed, Amelia Ross, Leos Yagley, Jenika Dhillon and Tatnagon Nakhanthy (with the help of high school science teacher Chris Ruston) spent the day on Wednesday using their creativity to build a structure for the area's annual "Can"struction event. Using a combination of canned goods, boxes of cereal, and bags of black beans and rice, the students carefully stacked the items using the movie "Wall-E" as their theme. On Friday, a group of local judges will visit the high school to evaluate the project, and an awards ceremony will take place the following week.
Following the competition's end, the project will be broken down, and all non-perishable goods will be donated to CHOW as well as our very own Wildcat Food and Clothing Center in the high school.
