New York State law allows parents and legal guardians of a student to request the effectiveness scores and final ratings of teachers and principals to which the student is assigned for the current school year.  Requests for this information have to be made in writing using the appropriate teacher or principal request form(s) below.

This information may only be released to parents or legal guardians and the district will verify that any request received has been submitted by a parent or legal guardian.  Additionally, the information is intended only for the use of the requesting parent or legal guardian.

State Education Department Awards "Teaching Is The Core" Grants

The Johnson City Central School District is one of thirty-one grant awardees under New York State’s “Teaching is the Core” initiative. The grant was written as a consortium with Binghamton City School District and Whitney Point School District. The grants, funded through New York’s federal Race to the Top grant, will support the district in their efforts to eliminate locally adopted tests that do not contribute to teaching and learning. In addition, these funds will help the district identify and improve high-quality assessments already in use that can be included as a component of multiple measures of student learning and school and educator effectiveness. Additionally, it will assist the district in establishing a professional development program that will aid teachers in identifying high-quality assessments and improving daily and periodic assessment practices.

Additional information regarding the grant requirements and activities can be found at: https://usny.nysed.gov/rttt/rfp/.

    Student Transfer Registration
    Instructions and Forms
  • The Johnson City School District has changed its student enrollment process via central registration. All district registrations will now be completed at the Student Services Office, located in room 165 in the Johnson City High School, 666 Reynolds Road.

This page of our web site is primarily intended for parents or guardians of students who are transferring into the Johnson City CSD from other school districts in New York or elsewhere.  That process can sometimes be complicated.  This page contains instructions for completing the transfer registration process, as well as downloadable copies of all the forms that must be filled out as part of the registration process.  Following the instructions below will help parents and guardians be able to complete the process as quickly and easily as possible, without the need to scramble in search of required documents or records.

Generally, the registration process can be broken down into three steps:

          • • First, parents or guardians should begin collecting certain documents that are necessary during the registration process, including documents required under state law to show current immunizations, proof of residency, and proof of age, and other documents that help the District place the child into the best learning environment,

          • • Second, parents or guardians should fill out the registration forms available on this web site or at the Welcome Centers of the K-8 Building and High School, and

          • • Third, parents or guardians should make a Registration Appointment to visit the District and submit the required forms and documents. Please call 763-1224 to schedule your appointment.

  • *Kindergarten registration will continue at the Primary Building during scheduled days.
