Operation Whiskers

JCMS students take part in "Operation Whiskers"

Operation WhiskersDuring our half-day on Wednesday, the middle school student body participated in a fun activity to try to solve the case of the missing Wildcat mascot head, a.k.a. "Operation Whiskers."

During each period of the day, the students received clues and were tasked with using their deductive reasoning to determine which middle school staff member stole the item.

To add an educational component to the effort, Johnson City Community Engagement Officer Peets and JC Police Detectives Bilek and Foland visited the classes on Wednesday to discuss how DNA and fingerprints are collected.

Today, the officers, with additional clues from the students, determined that Mr. Wilson and the middle school art teacher, Ms. Hamlin, were co-conspirators! However, they were let off the hook because their plan was simply to wash the mascot's head because it was smelly!

We thank everyone for working together to solve the fun mystery and foster school spirit!
