The Johnson City High School Art Department is thrilled to announce that several of our students won awards at this year’s Young at Art and Emerging Artists Show and Competition. The Art Show is hosted by the Fine Arts Society of the Southern Tier and the Broome County Arts Council. This year, nine school districts participated in the show, with 101 pieces of art in total.
Zhania Mazyck won the President’s Award for her Self-Portrait “My Own Light”
Sierra Buckland won 1st Place in Drawing for her Drawing “These Jeans Are Made For Walking”
Aliya Hankey won 3rd place in Photography for her photo “Crushed”
Emma Gage won 3rd place in Mixed Media for her image “I Know You Are but What Am I?”
You can see all the work at the Johnson Watson Cultural Center, located at 51-53 McKinley Ave., Endicott, NY 13760, Thursday 3/26 and Friday 3/27 from 6-8 pm, Saturday 3/28 and Sunday 3/29 from 12-5 pm, and Mon 3/30 and Tuesday 3/31 from 6-8 pm.
