Mrs. Darling’s 8th-grade science class and Mrs. Halladay’s 7th-grade Food and Consumer Science students participated in a virtual meeting with three experts in the field of STEM today. Mary Privitera, Kathlyn Doraski, and Sarah Von each discussed their careers and the wide range of work they have undertaken as environmental chemists, including providing consulting services and collaborating with biologists, geologists, archaeologists, and other field teams. Their fascinating work has also provided them with the opportunity to travel around the world.
For those interested in pursuing a future career in STEM, they stressed the importance of math and science, taking public speaking classes when available, staying engaged in class, and collaborating with others.
