Seventh-grade students in Mrs. Halladay's Food and Consumer Science class participated in a virtual visit with video game designer John Day this morning. Mr. Day's extensive resume includes working on games for Disney Infinity and Avalanche Software.
He provided background on how he became a designer and emphasized the importance of the classes students should pursue when considering a career in gaming: computer science, programming, mathematics, and art. He also explained the various steps in developing a game, from working on the initial concept to the finished product.
Today's virtual visit is part of JC's use of the 'Pathful' platform, which is designed to support our students in their academic and career journeys through career exploration and more.
