A group of our high school students attended the Southern Tier Construction-Technology Career Day on October 8. The annual event was designed for area students to learn firsthand about the opportunities available in the construction career field.
The event, held at the Broome County Highway Department facility in Chenango Bridge, featured exhibits from various organizations and schools associated with the construction industry, trade displays, and demonstrations of heavy equipment.
For many students, the hands-on experience included the opportunity to operate equipment such as bulldozers, backhoes, and dump trucks under the supervision of experienced professionals.
