We are very proud to announce that high school junior Leah Augostini is currently visiting Thailand as a foreign exchange student, courtesy of the Johnson City Rotary Club’s exchange student program. Leah, who will spend the next year abroad, started preparing last year by learning the language, attending orientation sessions, and completing all the required paperwork. Soon after arriving in Thailand, she had the chance to speak with her host club, the Sritapee Rotary Club. “Being here has been a wonderful experience,” she said.
Many Rotary Clubs in the U.S. and worldwide offer opportunities for exchange students. This is one of the many community and international projects that Rotary Clubs participate in, exemplifying the Rotary motto of “Service Above Self.”
We wish Leah the best as she begins this once-in-a-lifetime adventure!
