Jan. 25 message regarding NYS Supreme Court mask ruling

We are aware of a January 24 court ruling by a New York State Supreme Court judge in Nassau County that overturned the indoor mask mandate. An appeal of that decision was filed on January 25 by New York State Attorney General Letitia James. An Appellate Court has granted a stay on the indoor mask mandate, which means masking for all schools will remain in effect.
The New York State Education Department, the New York State Health Department and the Broome County Health Department, all released statements on January 25 recommending that schools continue to follow the masking protocols.
The district appreciates everyone's understanding and support as we know this has caused a great deal of confusion for everyone. We will continue to provide the most accurate information as it becomes available.
