Jan. 7 message from Central Office

On January 4, the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) released updated guidance related to isolation and quarantine in alignment with CDC guidance. We appreciate everyone's patience as we work through the changes that are coming from federal, state and local health authorities. We understand the continued frustration with all of these changes and are working diligently to share the latest information in a clear manner with our staff, parents and community.
As the state and local health departments update their guidance and share information with schools, we will be providing further details early next week regarding revised information for the handling of positive COVID cases, testing at home, quarantine and reduced isolation periods from 10 days to potentially five days.
Additionally, we want to thank all our families for visiting JC Schools this week to pick up free voluntary COVID testing kits. The district is continuing to work hard to ensure we focus on the safety of all our students and staff.
More to come!
