The Johnson City High School will host "The Buzz" this evening (4/29) consisting of a series of informational community conversations regarding substance abuse prevention, addiction, recovery and stigma surrounding these issues. A documentary will be shown about teens and party/drug culture followed by a question/answer session with professionals from the community.
The event will also present 'Hidden Mischief,' a mock teenage room set up in a classroom that will serve as an educational tool for adult participants to search for hidden drugs and paraphernalia while learning about concealment methods and drug culture references. A Q&A will follow.
The Buzz will take place from 6:30-8 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The Hidden Room will take place from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and 8-9 p.m. in room 128.
The event is sponsored by Binghamton University, BOAC, The Family & Children's Society, Prevention Coalition of Broome County, Cortland Prevention Resources and Johnson City Schools.
