The Johnson City School District and the Anderson Center for the Arts at Binghamton University are newly designated members of the Partners in Education program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.  Selected because of their demonstrated commitment to the improvement of education in and through the arts, the partnership team will participate in collaborative efforts to make the arts integral to education.  The district is proud to partner with the Anderson Center and the Kennedy Center and looks forward to fostering a relationship with both institutions that will enrich the artistic lives of out students and elevate achievement in all areas through extended assess to artistic and cultural events, as well as enhanced staff development programs. 
 


The school and community of Johnson City have been selected as one of the:
"100 Best Communities for Music Education in America".

    This designation comes from a consortium of organizations, which include:

    These organizations are committed to fostering the development of quality school music programs by recognizing those communities that have demonstrated  an ongoing commitment to music education.  The selection if recognition of the quality of the K-12 music program, the level of support by the administration and board of education and the degree of loyal and dedicated encouragement from the community as a whole.  It was made after reviewing the results of surveys submitted by over 15,00 eligible communities.
