Student safety is a priority for each and every staff member within the school district. We are entrusted by parents and the community to provide a quality education to each student within a safe, secure, and nurturing environment. This fall, bus safety procedures were practiced with students. Bus drivers updated their safety procedures to insure the security of the students in their care. Safety committees meet in each building on a monthly basis to discuss issues that have arisen and the District Safety Plan is reviewed with staff. Once a year, the District holds a preannounced drill to practice safety and emergency plans so that students and staff have the opportunity to practice procedures in a simulated exercise.

In addition, a letter was sent home to parents explaining how the school's cleaning regimen is addressing the recent MRSA scare, as well as to give some useful advice to parents to minimize their child's likelihood of contracting an infection such as MRSA.
