"Go and Grow"
What is a "Go and Grow" project?
A "Go and Grow" project allows for one or more teachers to visit local sites outside the classroom for the purpose of professional growth. The experience must directly relate to the promotion of our district and building goals while contributing to a participant's professional development as an educator. Visitations typically do not exceed one day.
What are some examples?
* Teacher to teacher visitations to exchange instructional and curriculum ideas.
* Visitation to Binghamton University to study current research initiatives.
* Visitation to local business for student career information or technology updates.
In what ways can Go and Grow funds be used?
Go and Grow funds are typically used to provide a substitute teacher while you participate in a visitation. Reasonable travel and meal expenses will be reimbursed.
How do I arrange a visitation?
You can make the initial contact and arrange your own visitation or you can request the Teacher Center to intervene on your behalf. In either instance, a project cannot commence until an application has been submitted and approved.
How will I know if my application has been approved?
The Policy Board will review your application and notify you of its approval or disapproval within one week of the application submission date.
